And now for something completely different. A wedding story told entirely in black & white.
M.C. & L.N. met as fresh-faced students in Harbin, China, embarking on their studies to Singapore. Many years later they tied the knot in style in their newly adopted country. Their ROM brought back fond memories of a wedding I covered in China. This is how weddings should be: loud, boisterous and fun!
Wedding date: Sunday, 18 October 2009
Venue: Garden Terrace, Shangri La Hotel, Singapore
Car: Chrysler 300 Super Stretch, Lotus Limousines
Solemniser: Assoc. Prof. Yu Shi Ming, PBM
Videographer: Lizhuang, Zephyrgraphy

M.C. carried L.N. all the way from their bedroom to the waiting limousine, pausing only for a rest in the lift.

Last minute touch-up.

The bags of sweets have a special significance for weddings in China.

A final hug from her best friend before their march in.

The ecstatic welcome by their friends was too much for L.N.

Welcoming a new daughter-in-law. I can appreciate the slight differences in their tea ceremony compared with ours: the bows and the manner of offering the tea cups.

A quick change for their second march in.

The Chinese rice wine came in a pretty bottle but it smelled lethal. If the alcohol content was any higher then it will be hospital grade.

This rice wine can bring men down on their knees, but not L.N.

Congratulations M.C. and L.N. and best wishes for your grand wedding dinner in Harbin, China.
